German company Adidas will become the new sponsor and producer for Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga balls from the 2026/27 season onwards.

From Derbystar to Adidas – the official Bundesliga ball will get a new design from 2026/27 onwards! Adidas have already been responsible for the production of Bundesliga Balls between the seasons of 2010/11 and 2017/18.
Derbystar took over in 2018 and gave the Bundesliga a fresh re-design. 2026/27 will be the first season in which Adidas will make their highly anticipated comeback in Germany’s first and second division.
“The selection of a fitting ball design is very important for the top-scoring league in Europe. We are very happy to once again work with Adidas”, said DFL-managing director Steffen Merkel about the agreement with Adidas.
The official contract lenght is set at 4 years, meaning that Adidas will be the production partner until at least 2029/30. A longer cooperation is supposedly very likely.
