However, there is still work to be done for the club’s sporting management, with Thomas Müller, Eric Dier and Leroy Sané all out of contract at the end of the season.
“Of course we’re thinking about it, we’ve already spoken to the parties and we’ll have further talks. I want the issues to be resolved before the crucial phase of the season,” said board member for sport Max Eberl at a press conference on Friday.
“I think we have managed to reach agreements with the key players. And now we have a very special player in Thomas, a very special player in Leroy and a player in Eric Dier whose performances have given us every reason to think about how the future will look. We will have those talks soon – soon for me means in the next few weeks.”
Meanwhile, a contract extension for Leon Goretzka beyond 2026 no longer seems off the table, given the midfielder’s growing importance since the start of the season.
“Leon has performed very, very well since September 1 and has made the most of his opportunities. Leon has underlined his importance, so it’s a great situation for us,” said Eberl.
