Bundesliga Team of the Week: Matchday 28

This time, our Bundesliga Team of the Week features players from Borussia Mönchengladbach, VfB Stuttgart, Union Berlin, Borussia Dortmund, Werder Bremen and FC Bayern.

With Matchday 28 of the 2024/25 Bundesliga season in the books, Bulinews.com Editor-in-Chief Rune Gjerulff has picked his Team of the Week, this time lining up in a 4-3-3 formation:

 

Goalkeeper

Tiago Pereira Cardoso, Borussia Mönchengladbach

The 18-year-old did everything he could to keep a clean sheet for Gladbach. Despite conceding a late goal, he had an impressive game, making eight saves in total.

 

Defenders

Leonidas Stergiou, VfB Stuttgart

Helped Stuttgart keep a clean sheet against Bochum with a solid defensive performance and also provided an excellent assist.

 

Leopold Querfeld, Union Berlin

Scored Union’s winner and helped them to a clean sheet, winning seven duels for the ball in total.

 

Jeff Chabot, VfB Stuttgart

He opened the scoring for Stuttgart and was rock-solid in defence as the Swabians kept a clean sheet away to Bochum.

 

Ramon Hendriks, VfB Stuttgart

Won five of seven ground duels, completed 82 percent of his passes and capped his performance with a great assist.

 

Midfielders

Atakan Karazor, VfB Stuttgart

Shone in midfield, winning nine of 10 duels for the ball and setting up two goals.

 

Carney Chukwuemeka, Borussia Dortmund

Made his first start for Borussia Dortmund and repaid the faith shown in him by getting on the scoresheet and completing 95 percent of his passes.

 

Romano Schmid, Werder Bremen

Registered an assist and a goal in Werder’s 2-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, in which he made three key passes. Also won four duels for the ball.

 

Strikers

Leroy Sané, FC Bayern

Rounded off the scoring for Bayern against Augsburg with a well-taken goal and provided two key passes.

 

Ermedin Demirovic, VfB Stuttgart

Bagged a fantastic hat-trick to lead Stuttgart to a crushing 4-0 victory over Bochum.

 

Karim Adeyemi, Borussia Dortmund

Opened the scoring for Dortmund with a great goal and completed three of four dribbling attempts.
