Jeremie Frimpong is wanted by Liverpool boss Arne Slot should Trent Alexander-Arnold depart for Real Madrid, Sky Switzerland reports.

The Dutch wing-back is interested but it remains to be seen whether he rules out other suitors or joins the Reds.

Slot is rumoured to be in close contact with the Leverkusen player via phone calls, discourse via text and a potential in-person meeting to follow.

Although Liverpool have touched base with Frimpong’s entourage, an official offer is yet to be submitted.

Michael Edwards, Liverpool’s director of football, shares a good relationship with Die Werkself. However, he will have to negotiate under a strict budget set by FSG.
