TSG Hoffenheim head coach Christian Ilzer delivered some unfortunate news regarding midfielder Diadie Samassekou.
In the wake of last Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Heidenheim, the Malian suffered a tendon injury.
It is believed that the 29-year-old’s season could be over given the severity of the injury itself which usually requires months to recover.
The news comes as a blow to Ilzer’s relegation-battling Hoffenheim – Samassekou has been part of the starting lineup since Matchday 13.
Aside from a positive update on Marius Buelter’s fitness, Samassekou joins a list of absentees including Ozan Kabak and Grischa Promel.
