Speaking with El Periodico de Espana on Thursday, Alejandro Grimaldo made no bones about his dream of a return to club football in Spain.

The left-sided playmaker stated it was a personal goal of his and he has not hidden his intentions from his current employers Leverkusen.

Born in Valencia, Grimaldo joined Barcelona’s famed La Masia academy before going on to have an illustrious career at Benfica and Die Werkself.

However, the Spaniard’s dreams of a return to the Catalan giants may well be dashed.

Germany’s leading tabloid BILD estimate that Grimaldo could cost more than €30million this summer.

A fee of this size would likely be difficult to afford for an already financially strapped Barcelona.
