Bayer Leverkusen narrowed the gap on Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga table to three points with a 3-1 win over Bochum at BayArena on Friday evening.
Aleix Garcia opened the scoring for the Werkself with a rocket from outside the area in the 20th minute.
But Bochum hit back six minutes later when Felix Passlack hit a looping volley into the far corner of the net.
Victor Boniface, who made a rare start up front alongside Patrik Schick, put Bayer 04 back in front on the hour mark after being set up by Piero Hincapie before substitute Amine Adli made it 3-1 late on to cement the win for Xabi Alonso’s team.
The result leaves Bayer Leverkusen three points behind leaders Bayern Munich, who host FC St. Pauli on Saturday.
