Following the sacking of Marco Rose as coach of RB Leipzig, Zsolt Löw has been appointed interim coach for the remainder of the season – but who will take over in the long term?
According to Bild, Leipzig have drawn up a shortlist of candidates for the job.
One name on the list, according to the tabloid, is former RB Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle, who is currently under contract with Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli until 2026.
Roger Schmidt, who was sacked as Benfica coach at the end of August last year, is also thought to be a candidate. Like Jaissle, the 58-year-old was previously in charge of Salzburg.
Finally, the report mentions Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner, who has a contract with the English Premier League side until 2026.
However, a possible stumbling block could be the transfer fee that Crystal Palace would demand to let him go.
When Bayern Munich approached Crystal Palace about Glasner in the spring of 2024, the London club reportedly asked for a fee of a whopping €80 million.
