Leipzig’s sporting director Marcel Schäfer continues to defend Marco Rose despite their Bundesliga struggle.

RB Leipzig’s winless Bundesliga run stretched to four games after a drab goalless draw in Freiburg. The Bulls only won once from their last nine league matches as they slipped outside Champions League places.
However, Leipzig’s sporting director Marcel Schäfer is still counting on Marco Rose. “It’s always surprising. No matter how you do it, it’s always somehow wrong,” said Schäfer after the game. “The fast pace of our business is criticized all over the place. And, maybe, rightly so.
“Now we’re going completely the other way. But, we want to get through this difficult phase with the coach who was born in Leipzig. He won a title for the club. Yet he has been criticized every week.”
