Football News: Everton FC Players Review

Everton FC Players Review

Gana Gueye – absolutely renew still performing at superb level – +1.

Abdoulaye Doucoure – really depends on his wage demands, he’s important figure at Everton Football Club (EFC), but he is EFC’s highest earner on between 120-130k a week. if EFC can get him down back below 100k then renew +1, if not then be sad to see him go but he is on the decline.

Michael Keane – no, one of EFC’s highest earners and time to move on – let go.

Seamus Coleman – i’m hoping he retires, both calves have gone and can’t play a game now without needing to sit out for 4 weeks (get on the youth team coaching staff Seamus) – retire / no renewal.

Ashley Young – EFC need to stop relying on elder statesmen for roles of importance, shake hands for a decent 2 years at his age – let go.

Charly Alacaraz – may be an EFC player near enough anyway by time season ends, but 15m-ish looks a decent deal on the surface as resale value either way on a young midfielder in the English Premier League (EPL) – keep.

Asmir Begovic – i’d be fine with Begovic staying, third choice and a good head to have round – +1.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin (DCL) – it’s tough, i actually think he could be good again under David Moyes as we’ve seen with Beto (i still think DCL is a better player), but it’s been too messy with DCL, his agency ran the risk of letting the deal run down and got a big injury. Feels like one of them where bridges are already essentially burnt. Wanted out last summer which wasn’t any secret, if he resigned now it would be a combination of justifying it by saying Sean Dyche has gone, but also looks to EFC fans that his offers have now dried up after injury so ‘he’ll stay’ – let go.

Joao Virginia – we have a club option to extend which i’d activate anyway, however i think he’ll want to go and play – trigger extension then sell.

Orel Mangala – nasty injury, be lucky to be back this calendar year, unfortunate for him. i wouldn’t have paid more than 12-15m for him either way – let go.

Jack Harrison – not performed anywhere near the level required, EFC need to stop signing players for the sake of it – let go.

Jesper Lindstrom – shown flashes recently that he is adapting to English game, clever player but maybe not an out and out EPL style RW. but players need time to adapt to new leagues/ environments i wouldn’t be buying for the 20m we have the option for, Napoli desperate to get rid. Verdict – let go, or try for another loan for a year.

Armando Broja – sick note, barely plays much football – send back.

There are bigger questions still on players that deals expire in 2026, because it’s your last chance to get fees for them coming in, i’d renew all 3.

Mykolenko – renew, hopefully a squad player at best next season, but protects value and keeps a squad.

Garner – renew, surprised it’s not been done yet anyway, truth be told.

Tarkowski – i’d renew next season +1, EFC need a new remit. For me, i think that players 32+ get yearly renewals to really study their decline.
