Following the confirmation that Florian Wirtz will be sidelined for weeks with an ankle injury, Bayer Leverkusen have received some positive news on the injury front.

Granit Xhaka and Edmond Tapsoba, who were forced off in Saturday’s 0-2 defeat against Werder Bremen, both took part in Monday’s training session.

The same goes for Robert Andrich, who has missed Die Werkself’s last two games due to illness.

The trio should therefore be part of the Leverkusen squad that will attempt to overturn a 3-0 deficit against Bayern Munich in the second Champions League last-16 clash between the two clubs on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Jonas Hofmann did not take part in Monday’s training session. Like Andrich, the attacking midfielder missed the defeat to Werder through illness.
