Bo Henriksen’s team momentarily climbed to third place in Bundesliga after Friday’s 3-1 win in Borussia Mönchengladbach. After his sixth goal of the season helped the 05ers to dream high, Nadiem Amiri talks about playing in Europe’s premier competition.

“In the beginning, we lost the ball too easily, which made life difficult for ourselves. What we delivered afterward was perfect in all criteria.” said the former Leverkusen midfielder in an interview with DAZN before the talk turned to the Champions League.

“Which footballer doesn’t want to play in the Champions League? It’s unbelievable what’s going on here. We are rightly where we are. And everyone knows that by now.”

Yesterday’s result means Mainz will remain in a Champions League place for another matchday. They will aim for a fifth straight win when Freiburg visit Mewa Arena next week.
